                              KIWIANA

The term Kiwiana is given to items and symbols that are uniquely New Zealand. Below is a list of the items and symbols I consider to be a Kiwiana and an explanation as to why I have chosen them.

FERN:
The silver fern is very special to our country as we are the only ones to have a silver fern. You can only get silver ferns in New Zealand. On the uniforms of the All blacks and Silver ferns and other sport teams there is a little fern that represents New Zealand.

KIWI:
A kiwi is our native bird. A kiwi cannot fly it comes out at night; it has a long beak to eat under the rocks and bark.

LAMB:
Did you know that there are more lambs in New Zealand than humans?
The lamb represents the farm in New Zealand.
